hiv testing and subtypes

In searching for tests to detect all hiv-1 subtypes the only test I've found that manufacturer and fda states the test detects M,N,and O subtypes is the Abbott RealTime PCR assay. If anyone can show me an antibody test that the manufacturer states it detects all hiv-1 subtypes I would appreciate it.I don't think there is one which is disturbing. Thanks!

Try to understand what you read, "closely relating to gorilla simian immunodeficiency virus." No they do know the origions of HIV.

Group O appears to be restricted to west-central Africa and group N - a strain discovered in 1998 in Cameroon - is extremely rare. In 2009 a new strain closely relating to gorilla simian immunodeficiency virus was discovered in a Cameroonian woman. It was designated HIV-1 group P.1 More than 90% of HIV-1 infections belong to HIV-1 group M. EIA tests which can detect either one or both types of HIV have been available for a number of years.

You are confused. M,N,O,P are groups not subtypes.
