hiv testing

I tested negative for hiv antibodies 8 weeks after possible exposure and i was feeling the symptoms at the time of testing.. How accurate is the test?

Get your conclusive test at 3 months. Next time use a condom.

i do plan on taking another test at 3 months but i jus wanted to know how accurate the test would be at 8 weeks because i'm showing significant symptoms and i understand that the antibody test does'nt detect in the early stages..

You don't have symptoms after 6 weeks. Most people will test positive by 6-8 weeks.

At 6 weeks i developed swollen lymph nodes in my neck and armpit..  At 8 weeks the swollen lymph node in my neck went down but i still had swollen lymph nodes in my right armpit and then went to left armpit.. and i read about the window period thats whats got me worried...
