hiv window period

i tested "negative" for both oral and confirmation tests for hiv, but i had unprotected sex before  with some one who tested positive like a week and half before i tested. my counselour reasured me that i was not positive. should i rely on this?

get urseelf tested at 3 moths..test at 6 weeks can also relieve urserlf from stress..as they are 98% conclusive..and as far as possible dont try to look for hiv info on the net..it can only make u feel worse...do appropriate test in recognise centre and consult an HIV specialist...from my last visit at the Main Local Aids unit of my country(to get my 7 weeks confirmation results)...i could see that all of them who are HIV+ are or were drug addicts...meaning unprotected sex carries a lesser risk as regards to drug injections..but a risk is a risk..so we need to get ourself tested..and hopefully we come out good from this experience and learn our lessons...all the best..god bless u

Can you let us know the date of your last exposure with the mentioned person and the date when you got tested ?

first off don't listen to answerasap (big Idiot). You need to test out to 3 months past your last unprotected exposure with the positive person!

I don't think a week and a half is long enough,please don't panic. I am not sure what a confirmation tests for hiv is could you explain I have never heard of them doing a comfrimation test unless pos on an oral test are you referring to a blood test?
