Dose a HIV rapid test detect for Hiv 1 and 2 ?
or it is just useful to detect hiv 1 and should I ask a doctor a seperate test for detecting hiv 2 ?

I had an unprotected sex 6 months ago , and I did hiv rapid test  3 month ago ( 3 month after exposure ) and It was negative . The doctor said its conclusive result , but now  I m not sure could that kind of test detect for HIV 1/2 , or it uses just for detecting hiv 1 ,
should I retest for hiv 2 ?

I am not an expert but I have read that only people who live in West Africa or had an exposure to someone from West Africa should be concerned with HIV 2. Unless you have done that, you dont HIV2 and you conclusively dont have HIV1
