For you it doesn't matter, you were never at risk.

Dr HHH has answered this question in the past. 'Even the tests in routine used 10 years ago would have been almost as accurate by 5 weeks.. '

So at 9 weeks you are home free even if you were with a hiv infected person. Stop looking for bad news.

FYI - I spoke to a counseler at Home Access.  They tend to be pretty conservative (i.e., test until 6 months out) and even this person said that their Rapid Express Test is second generation and that the generation makes absolutely NO difference after 6 weeks.

its second generation? i bought one and it said it was 1st generation

I spoke to them last week and asked that specific question and they told me it's second generation.  In any event, first or second, generations only make a difference in the first 6 weeks.

you tested with home access

by Am_I_Simply_Making_Myself_Sick, Jan 16, 2007 12:00AM
I tested with Home Access (getting back my 8.5 week results tonight).  Doc and Home Access said that it's as reliable as any other test.
