i think am positive - i cant sleep PLEASE HELP

Dear,

on 26/1/2004 i had sex with a prostitute, once i have inserted my penis the condom broke and i immediatly pulled the penis out which is abt 3 sec. anyways, on 4/4/2004 which is basically 9 1/2 weeks - i got sick and it was similar to acute HIV infection, it started with fever that came out of no where along with the following:
1. muscle pains.
2. lymphs nodes got larger (on the back of my head)  ONLY. - no armpits neck or any other places / the doctor at that time told me that this is very normal.
3. headache. at night only.
4. night sweats. for 2 days only
5. unexplaied fatiguee ---- really bad.
6. rach on my back (not sure though) - maybe we can ignore this. since while i read the symptoms and remembering and feeling that i had them.
5. sore troat

(NO Vomiting) (NO diarrhea) (NO raches in face, chest)  - untill today. (no swollen nodes). also i havent suffer from fever for the last 4 years. maybe once that was combined with flu.

i visited our family doctor (i didnt know that these were symptoms of HIV)  in which he told me that its a very normal disease and he gave me (panadol). also i told him that this is the first time am having these symptoms.

basically the fever lasts for 2-3 days and the fatigue along with the muscle pains and aches lasts for like 1 month.
am pretty sure that these are the symptoms of HIV and thats why am really afraid to get tested untill today which is almost 5 years.

the thing that keeps giving me hopes is that 2 of my friends had unprotected sex with her (vaginal and anal) more than once and they are HIV negative i knew it becouse both of them now are married with childrens.

my second hope is that my immune system is treating me good and basically i have visitied the doctor only once for the last 5 years (after that night). am not catching any easy viruses -  as i have heard that i most likely to catch more viruses while am HIV positive.

anyways from that date untill today i havent had sex for the sake of not trasmitting the virus (if i have it) and am thinking of it every single day in which i have visited more than 10000000 sites and the HIV virus is not getting out of my mind. am really scared i didnt even sleep well for the last 5 years. am 26 now and i feel that this is my last year.

as for my body i have realized the following starting from december 1st 2008

dry throat (am a heavy smoker and am always used to this).
the unexplained aches came again - very light
little pain for the nodes under my arm pit - happened in 2 days only.

but with no fatigue or any other symptoms like fever, rash, diarrhea - (by the way i didnt realize any diarrhea/fever/rach/vomiting/headache/white spots in month -  for the last 5 years, in which am looking at my body everyday to self check my symptoms)

so please let me know what can i do for the fact that in my country, its considered a Safe HIV country with only 200 HIV positive ppl for the whole history. which is basically 200 out of 6,000,000.

i wish ur reply would be positive.

i have contacted an HIV professional doctor by mail before and he said that the possibilty for me to catch the virus is very very low................

also i forgot to mention that 2 days before that symptoms - i was at a birthday party and my friend (whom the birthday is for) was sick - and i might caught a virus from him.
he is HIV negative of course

i asked him about the symptoms that he suffered from for that disease and it was:

1. fever.
2. headache.
3. sore throat.
4. night sweats.

so i might got that flu virus from him.

my anxiety is slowly killing me.

your symptoms are not indicative of hiv.  at 9 1/2 weeks, it is too late for early infection symptoms and too early for symptoms of hiv to show.  

test now to know your status...your result will be conclusive and reliable.

is it true to say that becouse my immune system is working proprly for the last 4 years and am not getting any easy virues. even better than before, its a good indicator that am negative??? is it true? am asking this for the sake of me being relaxed.

and whats the most likely period to have actue symptoms after the expose? 6 weeks? 8 weeks?

ars comes at 2-4 weeks after infection and lasts for 1-2 weeks.

test to know your status.

You need to test. With the anxiety you have you will never know unless you test.

Vance, many thanks for ur reply; i know that the only conclusion i have is to do the test, i could have done it before but the only reason am here is to have some opinions abt my situation before doing the test.

It's not about being brave to test it about knowing what you are doing by testing is the right thing to do. Whatever way you look at it, finding out positive or negative is the right thing to do. If you come up clean you can look back at this and change your life, if you come up positive then you can get the right treatment and still live a long and productive life.

Alot  of times we worry ourselves into HIV symptoms what I mean is when we think of certain things we become that certain thing I did the same thing at one point of time and was negative but i had all kind of symptoms it was the worry bring these symptoms on

never assume you are positive because you are having some type of symptoms... Thinking like that will drive you insane and its unneccessary.

whats the possibility of the virus transmission from one time sex ONLY and having pulling my penis 3 seconds after the condom broke? in which my penis was like only 2 CM inside and has been pulled immediately?

hopefully very low, that happened to me 10 day ago with a prostitute as well, and these these were the longest ten days of my life.
