me to break it off with him. Now 7 months later i developed a cough sometimes dry sometimes productive. I bring up mucus that is clear and thick.I have to suck on lozenges to help stop the cough. I also cough in my sleep. One doctor told me i had sinusitis becuase of my stuffy nose
while another doctor gave medication to dialate my airways and told me he was worried about the coughing since im coughing for roughly 3 to 4 months. I have no fever
, sometimes a sore throat due to coughing excessively but more mucus accumulation in the back of my thraot and chest and i have to be clearing my throat.I have a crack voice and sometimes stuffy nose. Im at risk for HIV due to the coughing? Or is it a post nasal drip?
The first thing you need to understand and learn is that you can never rely on someone telling you they are negative. You must take responsibility to protect yourself when having sex.
You obviously have concerns that he was seeing other people while you were with him. So now might be a good time to get a full sexual health screening including a single HIV antibody test. This will conclusively tell you your HIV status.
For the record; a cough 7 onths later is not worrisome for HIV infection, nor is it a sign of seroconversion. It sounds just like what it is; a cough.
Thank you all for your help. I agree i should have been more sexually responsible but i'm now more aware and will not repeat this in the future. I will get a full screening but its a scary to think WHAT IF?
Isn't a cough the body's way of getting rid of foreign matter from the body. I'm concerned about the coughing and constant clearing my throat because of mucus build up. I will visit my doctor again. I have been on birth control for the past 2 yrs and well i dont know if its the reason for this sudden mucus (sliding down the back of my throat and sticking there) and cough problem im experiencing because from my research it was shown that birth control can can cause a post nasal drip because of the amount of female hormone increases in the body.If the cough continues when should i worry about it?
