No, the window period is 3 months, no 6 months. If you want to test for your piece of mind do it now, get your Negative result and move on.

..but what i read & know from 1 Doctor (serv in HIV/AIDS clinic at goverment hospital ) here yesterday, and that Doctor said

"peripheral neuropathy may cause from infection of hiv at ARS.  Another symptom of ARS had go away but peripheral neuropathy is persist untill taken some treatment to reduce or cure.

peripheral neuropathy  symptom develop in people who have CD4 count below 500 or less. less than 500 CD4 mean that people have weak immume system, so that people develop/produce hiv antibody very slowly. because that, it will be late seroconversion,  that why hiv testing method give -ve result because not enough hiv antibody to detect. SO that people much wait untill 6 month post exposure to retest for conclusive result."

MAYBE I'M IN DELAY OR LATE SEROCONVERSION because peripheral neuropathy symptom which i have and still persist untill now. So, at 10 weeks not enough must be wait 6 month for testing?

You had a 10th week negative, it's not going to change, no matter what symptoms you have. If you don't believe it, make another test now, and move on.

I HOPE ALL EXPERT HERE CAN EXPLAIN AND GIVE SOME OPINION ABOUT THIS

this peripheral neuropathy symptom which i have and still persist untill now

this link and fact about peripheral neuropathy symptom in hiv infection

http://aids.about.com/od/otherconditions/tp/signs.htm
Burning and Tingling of the Feet and Hands

It's probably the most common cause of pain for people living with HIV.
The burning and tingling of peripheral neuropathy can make a person feel miserable.
Why do HIV-infected people have peripheral neuropathy

http://aids.about.com/cs/conditions/qt/Neuropathy.htm
Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that is the result of damage to the peripheral nerves
of the hands, feet, and even the lips and mouth. This damage can be simply a result of HIV
but in most cases it is a side effect of some HIV medications.

Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy affect the hands, feet, lips, and mouth and include:

    pain
    numbness
    burning
    tingling

http://aids.about.com/od/newlydiagnosed/a/hivsymptom.htm
Neurological / Emotional Symptoms - Very early on in the epidemic,
experts realized that HIV affected both the physical and emotional self.
Neurological and emotional symptoms of HIV can include the following.

    Depression
Numbness, tingling, or burning in the feet, hands, or face. (peripheral neuropathy)
Confusion, weakness, or changes in level of conciousness

http://arthritis.about.com/od/nervepain/a/neuropathyguide_4.htm
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV),which causes AIDS, also causes extensive damage
to the central and peripheral nervous systems.
The virus can cause several different forms of neuropathy, each strongly associated
with a specific stage of active immunodeficiency disease. A rapidly progressive,
painful polyneuropathy affecting the feet and hands is often the first clinical sign of HIV infection.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/burning-feet/MY00409/DSECTION=causes
Burning feet can occur simply because your feet are tired. Athlete's foot can cause burning feet.
Burning feet can also be a symptom of nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy), perhaps due to diabetes,
exposure to certain toxins, chronic alcohol use, certain B vitamin deficiencies or HIV

I forgot to mention that it would be VERY unlikely for your 10 week negative test to change.

Please disregard Estelle's advice, it is wrong.

If you did not have unprotected vaginal or anal sex, you did not have a risk.  Oral sex, mutual masturbation are not risks, even WITH the presence of cuts/sores.

If you had a risk, you can obtain your conclusive result at 3 months post exposure.  And, no, Prednisone will not affect your HIV test in any way.

I think if it was a 4th generation test (Ag+Ab), the 10 week result should be pretty much the final answer (if you really want to be 200% sure, you make the test after 3 months). But as I see it, you don't have HIV (I would gladly bet with 100K EUR for that) and should find the answers somewhere else for your symptoms. You might have acquired other STDs or simply some other illness f.e. mononucleosis (or anything else).

Rubbing is not a risk if that is what you did. You would only have an exposure if there was penetration.  At any rate, a ten week negative will not change for those who did have a risk.

Rates of HIV transmission depend on the viral load of the infected person, but rates of transmission are still very low from a single exposure. Since you did come into contact with her bodily fluids and had open wounds, it is definitely possible you contracted the virus, but still, unlikely. Your results can change after 10 weeks, however, and you should be tested both 3 and 6 months after exposure to be sure.
