indeterminite hiv test

I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and just recieved my hiv test results elisa was positive and wb was indeterminite. This news has been devastating. I have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend a year and a half now. He claims to be faithful, but you never know. I don't consider my self at high risk for hiv My obgyn did not have much answers for me other than that I need to retest. what are my chances of being hiv+??

elisa 1.06
p24 equivocal
gp40 equivocal
p55 equivocal

So I finally received my results for my third test. My western blot continued to be indeterminate. So they performed a NAATS test which is supposed to be able to detect HIV within 7-10 days after infection. They told me my results were non-reactive. Meaning I was HIV negative. After almost 2 months of waiting I'm glad I finally got answers.

Yes I hope so, my husband was tested yesterday and the results were negative, I am going in a few hours to have a rapid test done and they also took another blood sample yesterday at my doctors office and I should get the results tomorrow.....this is soo scary and as if pregnancy wasn't stressful enough we add this on top of it :( I wish you the best I will keep updating with my results and hope you will do the same!

I still haven't received my final results. they wanted me to wait 4 weeks before any further testing. I just had a NAATS test done yesterday, they said that test should get to the bottom of this. so hopefully all turns out well for both of us.

We are not here to speculate on this or that. The poster does not have a confirmed positive test and that is good news. We are here for risk assestment and guidance. And at this point we are here to guide her and she also has Dr's to help her find out what is going on.

We really can't say why this is positive and indeterminate but chances are because of the pregnancy.

Did u not have an antibody test? And what was it?

I don't know why they would not do a antibody test and go straight to a WB as that is confirmation only. Have bf get tested, if negative then this should help your mind out in this whole thing.

No not recently, I am going to have to ask him to get tested. It looks like they only performed a western blot test and skipped the elisa this time.

Results from new test:
p24 present, all others absent

Which is not positive.
Has your bf tested? If not he should and this can help the final diagnosis process.
