I was involved in risky behavior at the end of june. I have been sick ever since. I dont remember ARS, but now have had burning skin and sore throat for weeks, paon in joints ,rash and now stomach problems for two weeks. Would HIV symptoms take hold so quickly? I believe I am really sick. The only solace i have is was approved for private life insurance in December. I am freaking out. Please respond

What was your exposure ?

if you had this exposure 9 months back, you should go out and get tested to know it, why would you want to guess it ?

You can't guess HIV with the help of symptoms, symptoms can be caused due to so many other medical reason.

HIV IS NOT FOR GUESSING, IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A RISK, YOU SHOULD GO AHEAD AND GET TESTED WITH A STANDARD ANTIBODY TEST TO KNOW IT.

I have never seen anyone go from recently infect to "Advanced HIV Disease" which means "AIDS" in that period of time without having an advanced immune disorder unrelated to HIV.

I dont really think u have hiv according to ur symptoms. Sore throat, pain in groin, ect...  If u have hiv after the window period, the most common symtoms i heard was being very fatigued(not ur usual im tired) without any cause, nightsweats(soaking wet), fever that comes out of nowhere for no reason. If u had unprotected sex then I think that u need to get tested, u are way pass the window period so any result should be definitive.

Do you guys know if insurance companies would deny a policy if you were positive for hiv. Because I HAD AN EXAM IN nOVEMBER AND RECIEVED PERSONAL POLICY.

you can go to thebody.com and go under ask the expert and there should be a section about workplace and insurance. here is the link.

You don't have it !

If it's a life insurance - NO HIV+ ->no insurance

by mike_no, Apr 27, 2007 12:00AM
but like I said before, why guess it when you can know it ?

No insurance company can refuse you insurance. They can however put riders on your policy that says that you cannot claim on a previous condition for one year. They can also make self-insured patients premiums so high you can't afford it. Life insurance premiums for HIV+ folks are so high, which make them cost prohibitive.

Exposure was with prostitutes protected vaginal. I have been sick for so long now I cant just write it off to stress any longer. yes the policy was for life, 2 mil so my rational brain keeps telling me that i would have been refused. Has anyone else been really sick I mean miserable sick and it was created in your mind. I wake in the night terrified.

would they have to notify me if I was positive?

by scareshitless, Apr 27, 2007 12:00AM
did u get tested and when did u get tested after exposure, and there was no need to get tested in the first place if ur condom was used properly and didnt break. Ur symptoms is not hiv related, i think dat u are so consume with worries that anxiety cause u to be stress out all the time, and stress will cause u to be sick, it actually weaken ur immune system.

iNSURANCE COMPANIES ROUTINELY DENY PEPOLE FOR PERSONAL INSURANCE I READ ON THE BODY. THAT MAKES ME FEEL

by mike_no, Apr 27, 2007 12:00AM
Stop guessing, get tested to know it !

life insurance policies hiv test, even though they may not refuse. an addendum to your insurance coverages and would let you know why some changes were being done.
however, since you dont have that piece of paper stating hiv antibody test -nonreactive, in your hands, then all your doing is guessing and assuming and back to, "chances are i would be notified if i was positive".
why chance it? go get tested, anyway, did i read right? you said protected.
go get tested for piece of mind.
