is it possible to catch hiv from someone in the incubation period

i'v just returned from thailand where i had unprotected sex with the same girl on 3 occasions, i went with the girl while she had a hiv test done and it came back negative but the nurse at my local clinic told me that doesnt make a difference and i'm still high risk i find that hard to believe. i'v also got penile thrush that showed up 2 days ago but is now clearing but from what i understand i wouldnt have any symptoms of hiv yet as i only slept with the girl for the first time around 10 days ago. can someone please help me with the facts

fact is you put yourself at risk for HIV and other STD's. Test for HIV at 3 months for a conclusive result.

Also test for other STD's. Just because no symptoms show it doesn't mean you did not get anything.

yes im being checked for everything im also going to pay for a ten day test. i thought i was safe because the girl had done a hiv test and came back negative. surely if the viral load is too low to show on a hiv test the chances are low of her passing it to me is this right ? thanks for your help
