is this an exposure risk...?

Hello everyone,

I'm a college student and I got I decided one day to go to a "sex store". I purchased a vibrator and that night I breifly washed it with soap and warm water. then I used it.

Could this toy transmit HIV to me? If they sold a used toy to me? I called and they guarenteed me that they NEVER would sell used toys. And would never sell them. But I have really head cold now... so I'm a bit afraid.

Thanks Teak! I realize I may sound a little goofy. But there is soooooo much information on the web, that it creates this kind of fear.

Move on. You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.

Sorry to bring this up again. But I have read on several sites saying "don't not share sex toys". That HIV can in fact transmit this way??? Although I did NOT share with anyone. Could it be a possibility they could have sold me a returned / used toy??? gee... I'm really paranoid now by what I'm reading!!

No need for testing at all
Well if you havent never been tested it never hurts just to know your true status
You had no risk so I would not test over this event here

No, this is not a risk for HIV.  HIV doesn't live outside the body for very long and therefore would not be present on a vibrator from a sex store.  I recommend that you wash your vibrator and not share with anyone.  Take care and stop worrying.
