kissing and HIV transmition

Dear DR
10 days ago i went to a strip club, at the end a stripper kissed me on the cheek to say good bye. it was very short only for fractions of the second. immediatly i cleaned the area i did not notice any sort of fluid, but  iam not sure whether her lips were moist during the kiss. when i returend to my hotel i noticed that i have a small abrasion in my skin in the cheek which look not recent and not bleedng and not oozing.
there was no sex at all ( no vaginal, anal or oral sex) and no mouth kissing,
what i am worried about can HIV be trannsmited to me in this way because i do no know the HIV status of the girl.
and 3 days after i started to feel some sort of pharyngitis but no fever which i explianed it to be due to allergic from jet lag or bacterial or viral?
i have no any other sexual activites.
Is there any indication for me to ge  testng.
i am vey much wiorried.
than you very much

Welcome to the forum.

HIV is not transmitted by kissing.  Among other reasons, saliva inactivates HIV.  The abrasion in your mouth does not change the fact that your exposure carried no risk of HIV -- even if the stripper has HIV, which statistically is very unlikely.  HIV symptoms cannot start 3 days after exposure; if you caught anything from the kiss, it's a garden variety cold virus.

From a risk assessment standpoint, definitely no HIV testing is necessary. However, you might decide to do it anyway; most people anxious enough to post a question on this forum probably need a negative HIV test result, in addition to verbal reassurance, to help convince them they don't have HIV.  It's your decision whether or not this applies to you.  (This is not code to imply that I really believe there was some risk. There was not.)

Good luck--  HHH, MD
