"microscopic" cuts??

hey, i was reading through Dr. Bob's archives on thebody.com, and some of the other doctors/experts there have said in replies that "microscopic tears and cuts" can be enough to transmit HIV if infected bodily fluids come into direct contact with them. i think this is ridiculous. how can a cut so small that the naked eye cannot see it be significant enough for HIV to enter? i also asked dr. bob if my situation (getting blood on my hands when i had a small cut that im almost sure wasnt bleeding as well as a torn cuticle on my thumb) and he said i should get a single antibody test done at 3 months post exposure to rule out all possibility. is this really necessary?! granted, i am a little worried about it as i dont know the status of the other person whose blood got on me, but could i really have gotten HIV?? he also said i should be tested for hepatitis C! in all the posts here i have read the cut must be actively bleeding and a significant amount of blood must get directly into the cut. why are the other experts at thebody.com saying elsewise? are they being very conservative to save their butts?? im extremely worried now. any advice would be so appreciated
