OIs do not start in days. It takes years for most people's CD4 to drop below 200. If one knows they are positive and have a CD4 less than 200 they are given antibiotics to prevent OIs.

A yeast infection is not worriesome for HIV.  Girls get them all the time.

nfareell...get urself tested if ur scared...u may live with hiv and may never develop opportunistic infections..
as teak said when ur cd4 gets below 200 - then u become prone to infections as ur body cannot fight those infections which a person who is hiv neg can easily fight...
but now with proper diet and med someone can live with hiv and may never develop oppotunistic infections..quality of life can be compared with someone who has diabetes..it all depends on ur cd4 level..
why dont u see an STD doc..he will surely give u all necessary details u need

Just because someone has HIV doesn't stop them from getting all the other infections as flu, colds, sinus problems, yeast infections as everyone else does.
