oral health and HIV

Dear doctor,

1 year after protected sex with a prostitute, i went and got tested for HIV and other STDs & everything was negative.

However, I have white ridges on both side of my tongue. I think it is the normal appearance of my tongue but not sure.

Ridges (like white flesh) on the left side of tongue got swollen and got big but after a week/10 days became normal.

The ridges are however still there. This incident has happenned twice since my sexual encounter with the sex worker. I have not had sex after that .

doctor, could this be hairy leukoplakia. I am really worried that i could have got a false negative HIV result. The test was at a my local GUM clinic in UK

THe past year has completely destroyed my life and i was recovering mentally now this thought has come up. I cannot bear the mental pain of another HIV test.

Your views on this would be really helpfull and  Should I do another HIV test ?
