oral sex

Hi, it's been 4 weeks and 5 days since my encounter with a high risk prostitute. I received 15 second unprotected bj from her and did not finish. I then kissed her and and sucked on her nipples. I asked if she was clean multiple times and she said she was and has a kid. But I wouldnt take her word for it. Anyways, I put this encounter behind me until this morning i woke up with a sore throat out of nowhere and now i have aches all of my body and a fever. I do not see at rash yet but this is in the range when ARS shows up. I never get fevers like this and i am very scared. I was told that oral sex, kissing, and sucking on nipples did not pose a risk for HIV, but the Drs. say it is a risk even though it is low, i have even heard kssing is a risk. Are my symptoms concerning and should i be tested?

Thanks

As you have found out they don't know what they are talking about.

It's because they lack in knowledge on HIV transmission. They don't keep updated and they are not HIV Specialists.

Teak, I understand this. I see you are very knowledgeable about HIV and it's risks so could you clarify something for me? After speaking with doctors and public nurses in my hometown, each say that there is a risk for transmitting HIV through oral sex. Is this because health care providers are obligated to say there is a risk for something if it has not been proved that there is 0% risk? When these health care providers say there is a risk - do they mean a "theoretical" risk?

There are no verified documented cases of oral sex transmission.

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex.  Please educate yourself about the real risks.  If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. "   DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..."   DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA

"The observation on thousand and thousand of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)."  DR HOOK

Teak, I have read many of your posts regarding HIV transmission, especially transmission through oral sex. In many of your posts, you say that oral sex poses "no risk" and that nobody has been infected with HIV through oral sex. Although there are studies that suggest that the risk is low, I don't believe its fair that you are telling individuals who post on this site that there is NO risk. There are indeed reported cases of individuals transmitting HIV through oral sex.

I dont mean to be annoying and i know the rules about continuous responses, but the fever has come back. The sore throat isnt really there anymore, but i am still achy, slight chills, swollen neck lymph nodes, watery eyes and a fever. No rash, vomiting, or loss of appetite. This is definately not a "run of the mill sickness" because i often get sinus infections and this does not resemble those at all. Again i know i had a slight chance, but has anyone on here ever gotten HIV from kissing or oral? And also how the risk higher from getting a bj than from kissing since both involve the saliva? Is oral risk more for women since they can get semen in their mouths?
