... Then, around 30 min later, that same guy engaged in deep kissing with me. We actually kissed so forcefully that I hurt my gums and began bleeding. Well, I pulled away and basically that was it.
Less than a week later I came down with a sore throat
Could I have been exposed to HIV in the situation I describe? I reckon... the guy performed oral sex, had some pre-*** left in his mouth and passed it on to me while kissing and my gums bleeding? Also, is it possible to develop symptoms indicative of ARS within one week of exposure.
Please answer me. I'm scared and my mouth hurts!!! Thanks a lot, Leonel
If kissing and a minor cut in mouth is it. There shouldn't be a problem, regardless of the conditions you add to the scenario. If you want you can test at 12 week conclusive, 6 week test will give a great indicator especially in your case (no risk).
The Doctor is on the other page.
Oral is low risk for hiv but other stds can be transmitted from unprotected oral sex. Also your mouth has many very strong exsisting bacteria that makes transmission non exsistant. No one gets hiv from kissing, non doccumented to date as far as i know.
Yeah I didn't have oral sex, I just made out with the guy but he, in turn, had blown another guy 30 min sooner. It was a sort of threesome.
I am concerned that the blower had some pre-*** in his mouth and then passed it on to me thru the kissing, especially considering I began bleeding.
Would it not be for the symptoms I wouldn't paid attention to this issue but given that I got a sore throat, a canker sore and what not, I'm panicky. However, does ARS appear 3-4 days after exposure? Isn't it supposed to strike from 2 weeks onward?
I'll contact the Dr to see if he can set my mind at ease!!! No more threesomes for me!
Honestly, i would waste your money regarding this exposure, besides there are many posts regarding this that you can read through enough of them to feel comfortable that you were not at risk. Dr.HHH will not do justice to your question my friend, only because no cactches hiv like this, lol. If somebody walked up to me and told me the caught hiv through deep kissing, i would tell them bull****! Man. Seriously, don't worry yourself on this one, your good.
Hey thanks Chapeau,
Yeah I know I might be overreacting. However, this was not just kissing. I started bleeding big time (actually stained the guy's neck, that's how I came to realise) and also he had been giving... you know (head). So this was kinda juicy in a bad way, pre-***, saliva, blood. Now that I think of it, it sounds hilarious, too (and a bit sad).
I'm worried about the symptoms. I do find it reassuring that I didn't have a fever, most people who get HIV got a fever, am I right? But testing proves too stressful for me, I'm going thru a lot, I'm depressed (clinically) and I wouldn't be able to cope with this extra something.
Would you test if you were me?
chapeau is right! save your money atleast on the question because you are going to get the same answer as here. as far as testing if you want to you can test. I kissed a girl with HIV many times for many years and never got HIV!
Here's what i would do my friend.....I would wait 12 weeks, whens the last time you had a physical with an hiv test? Rethink your path, get tested just for peace of mind, ect. Then from now on, nothing before scrutiny. Condoms everytime, even for oral and everything else you do and no worries. If your crazy worried go at 30 days/ 8 weeks/ 12 weeks / done!
Hi, yes I'm always very careful but I can't really use a condom for kissing... So, maybe I'll refrain from deep kissing until my gums disease is sorted out. Maybe my symptoms have nothing to do with HIV but I was at risk for other infections such as common cold, influenza, herpes (hence the sore on my lip?).
As I am depressed and tend to get obsessed with HIV easily, it might even be a good idea not to have sex again until I start my psychotherapy because there always will be a little something that takes away the joy of sex and brings about the fear of HIV, which also has to do with guilt, feeling stupid, and the like.
Thanks and take care!
Lol,what's up Mike_no, i took a line from your profile my friend (nothing before scrutiny-i live by that motto from now on). Leonel, you need to get a hold of yourself man, you can not go back in time, just do the testing to ease your nerves, but stay rational mate. I don't understant how so much blood came out of your partner....puzzling, but still, your mouth does a lot to protect you, thats why there are so much bacteria in your mouth and also why transmission is difficult, there is not enough of the virus in the mouth to cause transmission, even in the events you describe. Take comfort in this and seek council.
