overdose of Truvada

I started taking Truvada on Monday afternoon 3pm because the nurse told me to do so. Then she asked me to make a schedule of taking this drug together with Kaletra. I then scheduled to take them 7am and 7pm: 1 Truvada and 2 Kaletra at 7am while 2 Kaletra at 7pm. Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. I rushed to the A&E and asked the doctor's advice on what to do. Since I waited for more than 3 hours before I was able to see the doctor, I was already drowsy when the doctor talked to me. This morning, I wasn't able to recall what the doctor told me, whether to change the schedule of taking Truvada (instead of morning, I should take it at night) or stick to my schedule of 7am (even though I was able to take another one last night, making it only 12 hrs apart instead of 24). So I just took again one Truvada this morning. Would there be an adverse effect on my body because of taking 3 tablets of Truvada with only 12 hrs interval? Please advise on what to do. Thanks.

So... knowingly that you had taken MORE than the recommended dosage, and worried of an overdose, you decided to take another one? Sounds like you need more than a Truvada to get your life sorted out. Not trying to be mean, or rude, but if you’re worried of an overdose, because you accidentally took an extra one, why wouldn’t you skip that next dose, just to make sure your body digest the meds completely out of your system?

How one person reacts on medication does not mean everyone reacts the same way.
