positive partner, now going crazy

Just over a week ago i had insertive unprotected vaginal sex with a girl. my friend told me after that he thought she might be a pro, so i asked her to get tested - it came up positive. I started PEP at about 43 hours.
I'm in a strange country, feeling very alone and am going crazy. I'm on Efavirenz and a combo of lamivudine and zidovudine and am sticking to it strictly - no real side effects apart from a little nausea.
All i can think about is that i now have HIV, that i'm the biggest idiot ever and how i don't think i can live with it. It would killl my family as well as me.
I just need a little perspective, please! I've read the probability scales a thousand times saying that it's less than 1 in a 1000 for my exposure, even though she is positive. At the same time, it's called 'high risk' everywhere I look.
With PEP - i have read 'very few people have gone on to become positive following proper PEP treatment' but every PEP website comes with the disclaimer that it is not 100%.
I've tried to stick to 'reputable' and expert websites but am still a bit confused. Please can some one tell me how i stand? i know i've put myself at risk and trust me it will change my outlook whatever the result - i've never been so scared or stressed.
I also plan on getting tested as soon as possible - a DUO test as soon as i have finished treatment - will this give me a good indication?
