possible exposure

Thank you for taking time to read my question.
This incident happened around two years ago during my first year at college.It was my first, and only sexual experience. I engaged with 'frottage' or genital rubbing with a circumcised man, who told me he did not have any STDs. I'd asked him that already. Now I know pre-ejaculatory fluid contains HIV. I read that this is only dangerous if there was penetration. But i'm unsure of what the word 'peentration' means, since i know he didn't enter me. but if he did even slightly, would I have felt it? I'm sorry for these questions, i guess it's due to my lack of experience.
My fear is that he does have an STD,but is just not aware of it. I usually have yeast infection-like symptoms, and hence me worrying if i am  HIV+. I also had a bad case of tonsilitis, which i had never had before.

i'm probably posting too many times now, but one last thing. the opening of his penis was on the opening of my vagina, is this not an HIV concern either?
Might be taking a test, for peace of mind i guess.
