or any other symptoms. I have been active orally with different guys. Unfortunately I ran across this on the NET. which has me worried. Could a single symptom be the first sign. I will test but wanted your thoughts.
Thanks
Respiratory symptoms — A dry cough is usually the only respiratory symptom associated with primary
If you are JUST active orally, you dont need to worry about HIV. As the symptoms go, fever (101+) sore throat, and body rash are the most common symptoms and they tend to happen around the same time. You having just dry cough is not a primary symptom for HIV. You can get tested at 3 month mark (after your last sexual exposure, not including oral sex), and the result would be accurate.
Classic ARS symptoms appear 2 to 4 weeks after infection and include, very high fever, very sore throat and rash on trunk--torso and limbs. You need not worry however if oral sex was all that you engaged in as it is a zero risk activity for Hiv transmission. All the best.
Sorry for the extra question but I have read again that dry cough is an indication of ARS as posted above.
My question is have any of you found more info on a dry cough than that which I posted above?
I am off to the Doc. today but this cough is very unusual. Can't sleep at night and very dry.
