question!

by asp123, Jul 19, 2007 04:48PM
Hi,

Does anyone know the amount of people that do end up with symptoms? And what symptoms are most common...ive heard that a fever is very common but how long would that last for? etc? do symptoms generally last a day? or a week?!

Assuming no symptoms? and 1 time exposure is pretty good odds?

I have read about 70-80% of people have symptoms of ARS and 96% of those people have a fever. You get a lot of symptoms at once, not just one. And the symptoms are identical to those of mono.

Everyone on these forums will tell you symptoms mean nothing.

I have all the symtoms of ARS but it turns out I have mono.

Well i guess symptoms do mean something in a way....if u had a low risk..plus no symptoms then in all u would feel a little better! Also if u've had mono once, i hear its hard to get it twice soo thats a good indicator too! but i see ur point when u say symptoms dont mean much!

If you had a fever related to ARS you wouldn't be on the internet asking. Symptoms if you have them at all, last 1-2 weeks.

Also do u know how long the fever would generally last?

Ya i had a 1 time exposure with a female....vaginal sex...unprotected! She said i have nothing to worry about it and since we've been good friends! It's been about 3 weeks and i havent really had anything except a sore throat, but i often get those i guess! and twice at night i woke up a little bit sweaty! but nothing other than that! so i was kinda of tip toeing around questions to make myself feel better!

You had unprotected sex and the only way to know your status is by test. You can test 12/13 weeks post exposure and get your conclusive test result. Next time use a condom.
