hi
my only risk was unprotected oral sex 15 months ago.
my other activities aren't considered to be able to produce hiv, as every time i used a condom, except for handjobs where it isn't necessary.
basically i am scared out of my mind because i have discovered white stuff on my tongue and i am worried this is oral hairy leukoplakia. the white stuff isn't big, and it doesn't seem to be corrugated, it appears in random spots, more as white lines than as hairy areas.
i note it is on the lateral borders but it is also on the front.
however the thing is it is most prominent in the morning and then it gets better during the day so i wonder if it has something to do with sleep and maybe my tongue picking up some of the plaque from my teeth.
the problem is this i went to see my family doctor and asked him to have a look at my tongue, but i don't think i was specific enough. he said there was nothing wrong there, i asked him about white areas on the tip of the tongue didn't mention side, he had had a look and said this was normal.
the problem is when i punch white spots/plaque on tongue into google nothing comes up as normal, it always seem to link to a condition of some sort be it thrush or oral hairy leukoplakia.
my doctor is extremely experienced and is one of the best, waiting lists for the doctor's surgery are quite extensive.
so can i take his diagonisis that there is nothign wrong.
what if it is early stage leukoplakia and it is difficult to pick up.
should i go and see another doctor?
is it normal for white stuff to be on the tongue?
this stuff disappears routinely and comes back in different areas and is generally worse in the morning.
thanks
