hi medhelp people ,

i read alot of posts like mine but i wana hear it myslef so i can be sure am ok , i am 21 yrs old i always have cuts on my lips and we have a friend who is hiv positive , one time we were joking with each other he pointed his finger at me he touched my cut maybe bleeding lips his finger was also bleeding , i got soooo scared i think am dying everyday a million times , i have diarrhea to is it ars i dont know wht to do help me please do i need test

i find it hard to believe that you have a friend who is hiv positive...who just so happened to have a bleeding finger AND just so happened to touch your cut lips.  arent you being a little irrational here and letting your fear get out of hand?

it happened my bad luck but teak said its no risk even with both having blleding cuts is it true

Guy.....you are NOT at risk....you're all dramatic and speaking about life as if it is over b/c your HIV+ friend touched your lip with his finger?  You either need to educate yourself about HIV thoroughly and promptly....or love in a bubble suit.

HIV IS NOOOOOOOOOOOT TRANSMITTED IN THIS MANNER...BLEEDING OR NOT...THE AMOUNT OF BLOOD THAT WOULD HAVE HAD TO BE EXACHANGED TO EVEN CREATE A RISK WOULD HAVE SENT YOU TO THE HOSPITAL.

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY...EDUCATE YOURSELF...AND IF YO'VE MENTIONED A WORD OF YOUR WORRIES TO YOUR PAL...THEN YOU NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO HIM AND EXPLAIN THAT YOU ARE CLUELESS.

I know this is harsh....but I honestly am shocked by the continuing ignorance about this disease.  It sickens me actually.

sorry...but this is not a psychological counseling service.  you had NO risk.  read the guidelines at the top of the page regarding posting on this site.  move on.

Relax.

To clarify what I meant.....there is a BIIIIIG misconception about blood to blood risks.  Both parties would literally have to have huge gaping wounds that, would basically have to be hemorrhaging.  Small cuts, scrapes, lacerations, and so on....absolutely do NOT pose a risk.  YOUR "blood to blood" contact is insufficient.  Not even close to being a risk.

So, yes, you had ZERO risk.  You are suffering from HIV Anxiety.  You know reasonably that you didn't have a risk...but your mind isn't getting the message.  THAT is 100% anxiety working on you.

Getting some professional counseling would be a very good idea.  You need some help to be able to move past this.  PLEASE believe us when we say you had no risk.

I hope you get the help you need.

The story is suspect.  Very strange I agree.
