i got tested for hiv 3 months back..the result was
0.03(negative) with >1.5 being positive..
but recently i got tested again ie after 3 months and the result is
0.14(negative) with >0.392 being positive..
so my question is..why has this value increased?

is this increase due to cross reaction by any chance?

This low value of reactivity reflects laboratory conditions. It's never the same. You do not need to worry, your test is negative.

The two values never are same even if you get it done on the same day. Bottom line is, you are Negative if the value remains lower than the cutoff. It is true, these values create confusion for some, therefore at many places, values are not reported, only Negative or Positive.

Your status remains the same, no matter what value you see on your report. If your test is dome after 3 months of exposure, you are conclusively Negative,,,, HIV is no more a problem for you so move on with your life.
