6 months after-a very unsafe encounter with a lady of the night in South Africa with what I thought was a woo wooable negative test-but the nurse cautioned me that according to ones immune system one could take years to test positive? Is this a FACT? , is it a RARE occurance? or is she just SCARING me off so that I change my behaviour? I would be greatful if the truth can be reveild.I believe the best drs and counsellors manage this medical network.Thank you.
NB# Roughly 3 weeks after the incident I had swollen
Late or latent seroconversion is extremely rare.It really only occurs in people with extremely compromised immune systems,ie,iv drug users transplant patients on meds or chemotherapy patients,if you dont fit into that category of people then it,s a 3month window period for testing.taking years to seroconvert is an urban myth and absolute nonsense.you have already tested over the recommended 3months so your test results at 6moths are conclusive.
