Two negative DUO tests are conclusive at 3 months. A Duo test is and ELISA test and an antigen test.
A negative Duo test (Ab/p24 antigen) at 4 weeks would be a good indication, but again you need to follow up with a 3 month ELISA test for the result to be conclusive.
A P24 test will NOT give you a conclusive test result.
how reliable is p24 antigen test?
a CONCLUSIVE test result is obtained at 3 months post exposure.
I did take the antibody test...but after 17 days( 2.5 week) after exposure.
It also included the p24 antigen test. Since antigen test window period is quite less( 1 week- 2week), so it should have been positive to declare me as a hiv positive person. But both antibody and antigen test came negative. So should I take the antibody test again after 2 month(8 weeks)
Don't take the PCR test, it is a waste of money.
All you need is the antibody test.
If you test first at the 6-8 week mark and receive a negative result, that will be extremely unlikely to change when you test again at 3 months.
3 month antibody test is standard to give 100% conclusive result.
