stepped in a needle

Hello!
Some days ago I was walking home and suddenly I felt a sharp hurt in my toe. I'm afraid that I stepped a HIV infected needle, and it went very deep in my toe, and maybe hit my vein. If the infected needle hit my vein, is it a risk to get HIV? (I'm not sure it was a needle, it was a very dark area, I didn't see the ground, but I would like to know the chances to get HIV if this happened what I wrote above) I read that even if the needle hit my vein, I should inject myself fluids to get HIV, is it true? So I think I couldn't get infected if the needle only hit my vein, but I didn't inject myself fluids, am I right or should I get testing?
