still a bit concerned

Hi, I posted over a year ago regarding some acupuncture sessions I had.  I was worried about the risk of contracting HIV from acupuncture needles.  The responses that I got were that it was a NO RISK situation.  This made me feel better and I forgot about it.  Recently, for some reason, it has started bugging me again (don't know why) so I decided to come back onto the site to view the archives and get some reassurance.

I was doing well until I came across a post with a response from Teak, in which he states:

CDC knows of no instances of HIV transmission through tattooing or body piercing, although hepatitis B virus has been transmitted during some of these practices. One case of HIV transmission from acupuncture has been documented.

Now I read this and it really worried me, I know it is only one case but does this then mean it IS possible if the needle is re-used and not sterilised?

I look forward to your responses, I really hope you can help with this.

Thanks

again Teak, I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about.  I haven't been on this site for over a year and just wanted to come back and ask a question.  emsgib is not known to me so its a shame that you feel I am misleading you.  I am not, I just wanted your help.
