swollen lymph nodes

by need_advice, Jun 28, 2007 11:09PM
according to an article i read, lymph nodes become swollen when your body is fighting an infection. i have a swollen lymp node in my neck and another a little below my jaw bone. i did a 13 week just last week which returned negative.

1) if my swollen lymph nodes were due to hiv infection wouldnt the test have detected antibodies at 13 weeks?

2) does lymph nodes stay swollen in people with hiv, how long does it stay swollen?

please respond anyone, this is scaring me. i thought i could relax after my 13 weeks negative but it just worries me even more when i read about late serconversion and still having swollen node.

13 weeks test means definite and conclusive. In that area (neck and jaw) nodes are palpable may be littile big. That may be due to many reason. For example people have teeth problem jaw nodes become big and may stay like that. (even i have 2 to4 nodes littile big in Jaw)
