i just read one of dr H's answer to someone concerned about hiv and syphilis where hes said the person should get tested for hiv also cause syphilis accurs in person with high hiv risk. i posted a thread about my situation 3 days ago where i stated that i tested reactive to syphilis and negative to hiv 6 weeks after an incident in which the condom failed. i tested negative again at 12 and 14 weeks by a rapid blood test and elisa respectively. now the fact that i seen dr H's reply saying syphilis occurs in high hiv person gets me scared... note the girl i had sex with tested negative for both hiv and syphilis 10 weeks after our incident ( i also recieved treatment for syphilis)

1) should i still be worried after negative results and 12 and 14 weeks?  please respond anyone, its driving me crazy again.

1.  You don't get syphilis from people who don't have syphilis.  So either your test was either a false positive (likely) or you have had it for a while.
2.  You are HIV negative

Just because someone has an STD does not mean that they have HIV, nor does it mean that one that has HIV has an STD.

thanks for answering my first questions guys but id like your opinion on testing past 14 weeks. im still scared just because of the fact that i was positive for syphilis. especially since the person i last had sex with showed negative. could the test have missed hers? please give me your honest opinion on weather i should restest or not. thank you
