tests which were done

hello doctor I am a heterosexual male in early 20's. 12 weeks and 4 days ago I very dumbly had intoxicated unprotected sex with a female who has been with 17 people. three weeks after expouser i got red bumps on my glans (glands) penis. I went to a urgent care where they did a swab for herpes it came back negitive. then a week after the red spots I got sick which what looked just like strep. white spots on my tonsil, sore throat, cough, and a fever that was off and on for about 3-5 days when it was there it was about 99.5 the highest it got was 100.5. but like I said it was off and on. also I had pink eye in both my eyes. and diarrah for about 2 days off and on. I was very scared during this time. went back to the doctors and told him I had been around my cousin who was diagnosed with strep three days prior. he did not do a strep test because he said my lymph nodes were not swollen nd I did not have a temp at the time. took ammox and it it went away. I have seen two nurse practioners, two doctors, two dermatologist . the test i have had follows.
7 weeks 5 days post ex.: negitive antibody test (rapid blood) HIV                                                    negitive chylamida, GON and trich.(PEE test DNA amplified)
9 weeks 5 days             : Negitive antibody test(rapid blood) HIV
10 weeks 4 days           : Negitive HEP B, syphillis (syphilis), and HIV antibody with WB conformation
11 weeks 4 days            NEGITIVE : Viral Load test. HIV
12 weeks                        NEgitive rapid blood HIV test.
My doctor said that the viral load test at roughly 12 weeks is conclusive he said no more testing is needed that there is no way my symptoms are due to HIV he is 100% sure. I am scared though because over two months after my symptoms I still ahve swollen lymph nodes on the sides of my neck and groin. and still have white pus pockets on one of my tonsils . and my ear feels really weird.
What do you conlude about my tests and the viral load test.Doctor says there is no way HIV.

Your doctor is correct.  HIV test results always are more reliable than symptoms as an indicator for or against a new HIV infection. Your negative HIV antibody and viral load tests prove conclusively you didn't catch HIV and that your symptoms were due to something else.  And you describe a low risk situation anyway, despite what you assume about HIV risks.

You have been badly over-doctored.  Stop seeking out one provider after another (or websites) searching for bad news!  Accept your latest doctor's advice.  Put HIV out of your mind (as he already told you to do).  It isn't possible.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD

thank you for oyur response, do you feel 100% also that my on going symptoms are not due to HIV or any other STD. I cant get it out of my head am and am seeing ocunceling for this reason and are on anxiety medicene. furthermore I am sceptic because it is said that a viral load test that is undetectable means that you could still ahve the virus it is just not at detectable levels can you please comment on this. thank you

What is it about "Put HIV out of your mind (as he already told you to do).  It isn't possible" that you didn't get?

Your insistence in the face of such overwhelming evidence and your providers' reassurance, and now mine, indeed is not normal.  I agree there likely is a need for counseling to help figure out why you cannot accept the obvious.

I won't have any further comments. Best wishes.
