another thing worried, 2 mds looked at my tongue, i even told them i was concerned, they both said, my tongue looked normal, a little whitish but definitely not thrush.
when i eat it goes away, stains pretty easily, when i scrape it looks a little furry(white), i was very freaked out. then i got tested, 12& 18 1/2 wks neg. look at my exposure, brief penetrative vag, 10-20 sec at most before i stopped, i didnt think much until i had thrush glans spouse yeast infection. at bout 8 wks. though i had it before. took antibiotics, made my tongue white all around 11-12 wks. but i was neg. ive been reading peoples post since then, 3-5 mos. easily.
we all have candida in our mouths, sometimes things like antibiotics, viruses(common) will make our tongues white, it is candida but not thrush, nystatin is working thats good.one thing to remember, symptoms do not mean hiv, testing tells the story, in your case, you did not need testing.my tongue is somewhat whitein the back, i checked my oldest son, he has it too. not everyone has a perfectly pink tongue.
the oral was both ways. and I found white on my tongue within 8 days. Dr. prescribed Nystatin, as she said it was thrush, that is why I am so anxiety ridden. Can oral thrush be the only symptoms of ARS and occur within 8 days.
and now I feel like I have a sore throat and clogged sinuses...really worried
It seems like the Nystatin is working as I am seeing more of my pink tongue, but the symptoms you describe (easily scraped off, often leave blood and can be painful) are not what I have either. I can scrap my tongue with a tongue scraper and nothing comes off, it is not painful.
so, if Nystatin is working, but not the symptoms of thrush, what do you think?
white tongue doesnt necessarily mean thrush, even w/md sample needs to be tested to determine if it candida ablicans, oral yeast infection, 8 days is too soon, sinus congestion worrying you, i have sinusitis rhinitis right now w post nasal drip causing cough, its flu season. mds sometimes make mistakes in diagnosing off visual perception. if anti fungal nystatin is not working, most likely is not thrush, thrush is normally seen as white patches that are scraped easily leaving blood behind it. accompannied w sore throat a degree amount of discomfort.now oral thrush on the flip side does occur on healthy non imune defficient. i currently have white on my tongue, the filliform papillae is white. believe i went through my hell. then i read antibiotics cause white tongues. 12 and 18 1/2 wks neg. im ok, trust me you were protected your ok.
Worried, please follow this link, i hope it helps

For what it's worth, I'm with Dr. H, you'll be fine:)
Your level of anxiety is not warranted.
If the unprotected insertive oral and protected insertive vaginal sex are your only risk factors since your last HIV- test, then you are HIV-.
There are no documented cases of HIV transmission by insertive oral sex.
An antibody test at day 23 would be highly reassuring. Based on your non-existent risk, your 4-week antibody test result can be considered conclusive.
28 days still highly reassuring, but not definitive. you are at zero to extremely low risk. your negative dude.
