turn to positive in 1 year !!

lab technician told me some one turns to positive in 1 year, she also recommended me to retest in 1 year, even though my 5 months and 15 days result is negative.

also i read some african strain never show up in test and blood test is always negative even some one is infected (reliable resource BBC)

ELISA method generation cant help if body does nt produce enough and detectable anti body , no matter what kind of ELISA test is using.

right now i am waiting for 6 months western blot and ELISA reult to see whether those believe 3 months is conclusive are right or not.

statistically 99% of people turn to pos in 3 months but no body can assure you that the result remine negative after 3 months, so just get tested in 6 months and 1 year to be 100% sure .

who knows maybe that african strain spreads in world , beside that human being knowledge about HIV viruse is very very limited , otherwise we could have had HIV vaccine and medication available in drugstores.

""""""It's for this reason that experts suggest a series of HIV tests; a test soon after exposure (for a baseline); a test 6 weeks after exposure; and finally a test 3 months after exposure. In fact, some people """now"""" suggest another HIV test 6 months after exposure""""""""

The tests are either antigen or antibody tests. All tests will pick up any strains, or modified strains that are known.

hey mitm before you start scaring people why don't you show some evidence about what you're claiming. I understand that most people come here for relief and when they hear that a 6-8 week is conclusive by Dr. HHH  they are somewhat relieved. Even though i believe that 98-99% will stay negative there are people that will go positive. But Dr. HHH is the only expert on here with evidence and experience. So if you don't have either,or some type of evidence please don't post this type on non sense on here and try to scare people. And please don't talk to lab technicians(key word "technician") or especially planned parent hood personal about these things. When i went to Planned Parenthood they didn't know what a PCR test was or get this they didn't know that HIV2 existed, so she jumped on the internet to confirm it.
Thank you

Well said Regular and allthsigns. BBC might have developed a "very special" test method of their won, for detecting a "non existent" strain, but keeping it a secret for some reasons. HIV R&D, as a  side business .

We all hope that soon medical science will be able to offer a perfect treatment and cure. Launching of revelotionary HAART medication, in mid ninties was a very significant step in that direction. This is my strong belief that God has not created any illness without its treatment. This is another thing that it is not known to us yet.

However, until the treatment is known to mankind, prevention is the only cure. And ABC of this prevention is well defined by CDC, they say

A   Abstinence
B   Be Loyal
C   Condoms

It is our choice, what we pick from these alphabets.

To say that human knowledge of HIV is "very very limited" just because there is not a vaccine and no "medication available in drugstores" is one of the most ignorant and uneducated statements I have ever heard.  What rock are you living under?  The introduction of medicines since the start of the epidemic has drastically improved the life span of those who contract HIV.  Some people on HIV medication will never even advance to full blown AIDS!  Ask any HIV/infectious disease specialist and they will tell you they are confident that there will one day be a vaccine against the virus and maybe even a cure!

Your comments about antibody production are true - if your body has not produced antibodies they will not be detectable.  But think about it...HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system.  The immune system is going to put up a full fledged fight against the virus, and one way it will do so is to produce antibodies.  Unless you are severely immuncompromised, this antibody production will take place in a matter of weeks or months, not years.

I've never heard of any undetectable african strains.  I am curious how would BBC find out about it, if it is undetectable by all tests?
Nobody needs to test beyond 5.5 months, you are definitely wasting your time.
