We can't tell you what to believe, but we can tell you that our forums aren't a venue for debate over our stance that oral sex carries no risk for HIV. Our stance will not change unless we receive definitive scientific evidence to the contrary.
I want to do the test anyways, since I've been active and for peace of mind.
I have elevated liver enzymes due to alcohol-induced fatty liver (I've been tested for Hep B and Hep C, both negative). Do the elevated liver enzymes affect the accuracy of the HIV test?
You never had an exposure.
LOL, look at my use of language. My last negative result was about a year post exposure. After that I was obsessed with safe sex, except for those oral sex encounters. The first time I had sex with that guy, I used condoms.
Thank you for your reply.
I'm sorry about that, English is not my first language. No, I didn't have unprotected anal sex. It was protected.
Your post is a bit hard to follow.
It sounds like you had unprotected anal sex? If so, your risk is significant and you'll need to test. A DUO test at 4-6 weeks post exposure will be a very good indication of your status. We recommend following up at 3 months with a standard antibody test for a definitive result.
None of the oral sex encounters are a concern, no risk and no need to test based on those.
