W8 lastly i just confirm that they use elisa 3rd gen to me
3rd or 4th, your risk is already close to zero.
Just do the 12-week follow up. I have no more to say.
I take my 7weeks test and its non reactive.. i just worried about the test done of me.. because i have read in the internet that 4th gen can be conclusive in 4th weeks but not in the 3rd gen. I dont know if test matter
I take my test in the clinic
When i search this bio line hiv 1/2 3.0
The SD Bio-Line HIV 1/2 3.0 test is a single reagent assay for the detection of
antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus types 1 and 2 in serum, plasma or
whole blood.
2.2 This test is performed usually in Laboratories where facilities of ELISA are not
available.
Is this not an antibodies test?
Is SD bioline hiv 1/2 3.0 is not an antibody test?
The most reliable test you can have is an antibody test "preferably" done at a clinic.
If you're not sure as to whether you will receive a 3rd gen or a 4th gen, just go to a clinic and ask for an HIV antibody test at 6-8 weeks post exposure for an excellent indication, and follow up at 12 weeks post exposure for a conclusive result. ((if you follow this time-frame, you need not be concerned with it being 3rd or 4th gen))
I don't know the different brand names and their reliability in different places ((if you are talking about home test kits)). Although most are pretty reliable, your best option is to have the test done at a clinic.
just one question .. my test procedure is method used ICT kit/reagent use sd bioline hiv 1/2 3.. is this 4th gen or 3rd gen or other test?
i have rashes that develop to my skin... that why im push to test i think 7 weeks after i exposure... then it was non reactive... is this result i can be assurance that i dont contracted hiv ? thanks
Please try not to worry and do the test again at 6weeks. Last but not least use a condom next time.
thank you for your knowledgable comment.. im just afraid of getting this decease :( btw im also have sex with her in nov 27 which is same girl that i contact in jan 4..
Tymar, I think the so called symptoms are in your mind mostly. From what I learned is that if the symptoms you have are coming from a seroconversion you would have been postitive in your test. If you don't get a chancre for Syphilis personally i wouldn't test again, but as 12 weeks HIV test is conclusive maybe you can do it together. If you use 4th gen HIV test most experts are saying that 6 weeks is conclusive. (in the UK even in the guidelines)
Any negative at 3 weeks is a good indication.
If you're losing a lot of sleep over this, just take another antibody test at 6-7 weeks and follow up with another antibody test at 12 weeks for a conclusive result.
Some members here say that a DUO test is also conclusive at 4 weeks and over. I would recommend doing the antibody test at 12 weeks either way.
Your negative at 3 weeks is a good indication of your status. If it was a DUO that you took at 3 weeks it would be an excellent indication.
Don't worry too much. Just follow up at 12 weeks post exposure with an antibody test for a conclusive result.
