It doesn't not stay active outside it's host.

Hi, just want to know and seek reassurance, just the above theory apply for menstrual blood as well, since blood has higher content of hiv.

Thanks in advance.

Correct, even if it didn't there would not be enough of the virus to infect.

So that means it dies instantly in matter of seconds? Right?

Hi,thanks for your prompt reply, but I have read that HIV survives for few minutes outside the body, do you mean to say the virus although alive looses its infectiousness in 5 seconds?

Not a risk at all. HIV is not transmitted by fingering.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
