vaginal fluid contact - hand to genital

vaginal fluid contact - hand to genital

I was with a CSW a few months back. That was the only instance of sexual relationship in my life. Before starting any act of sexual stimulation, she took a lubricant and applied on her vagina using her hands. After which she offered me to help wear condom on me. She used the same hand to open the condom. She touched my penis and the inside portion of the condom and wore it on me. After which we had sexual encounter for less than a minute. Then I removed the condom and washed off.

Question:

Is there a way she could have had vaginal fluid on her hand by touching her vagina (before the act of any sexual stimulation). I know she didn't have any sex atleast one hour before our meeting.

If she had vaginal fluid on her hand and if it is infected, what is the impact of the lubricant on the infected fluid ? will it help render the virus inactive or the virus will remain as is.

If she is in early stage of hiv, will this action have a lot of virus on her hand. Since she touched the inside of condom, my penis woud have massaged against it, does it mean I am at a risk of transmission ?

Please respond sir.

Welcome to the HIV prevention and safe sex forum.

It is impossible to catch HIV by hand-genital contact, even if genital secretions are used for lubrication and no condom is used.  As a virgin, it is impossible you have sexually acquired HIV. Without putting a bare penis (i.e. no condom) inside a person's vagina, rectum, or (rarely) mouth, HIV is not transmitted.  And it is unlikely your commercial partner had HIV anyway.  You do not need to be HIV tested on account of this event.

Here is a thread that explains in more detail how HIV and other STDs are (and are not) transmitted.  Start reading with the follow-up comment on December 14.  In addition, use this forum's search link and look for "hand genital"; you'll probably find hundreds of other threads that discuss this issue.

There's no chance you got infected. No worries. HIV is not transmitted this way. You can relax. Go ahead and get tested 3 months post event. Your test will come back negative. The mind is sometimes a terrible thing. A negative test result will be the only thing that will silence any irrational fears you may have about this event and HIV transmission. But again, you had no risk. There is nothing to worry about here ;-)

It would have been even more helpful if I had not forgotten to post the older thread that has more detailed information.  Sorry for the oversight.  Here it is (start with the follow-up comment December 14):  http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/1119533

I am sorry to come back with additional q's. Dont mean to question your suggestion but i came across this article i SF AIDS. Just wanted to get your perspective on this.

"Any sexual practice can be made safe or unsafe. For instance, mutual masturbation can become unsafe if people touch their own genitals after getting a partner's infected semen, blood or vaginal fluids on their hands. We hope to help you develop criteria to use to decide whether previous experiences you've had were safe or not, and how to stay safe in the future."

That's an overly conservative position.  Nobody has ever once been documented to catch HIV by such indirect contact.  Read the thread whose link I posted above.

That's all for this thread.

Glad to have helped.  Take care.

The HIV ELISAs take 1-2 hours.  Anything longer than that includes specimen transport time to the lab, how soon the lab does the test (typically they wait until they have a minimum number of specimens to run through the machine at one time), and the time to report the result.  So in the real world, it can be anywhere from 4 hours to a week or more.
