walking barefoot...needle, risk, scared
Hey guys. I'm back, and again, scared. So I've always been pretty athletic, and I like to run with no shoes sometimes. I live in the Bay Area now, so the risk of HIV is greater. Anyways, I actually wore my shoes tonight cause it was dark out, then took them off for my walk to my car. When I got to my car I felt a pain in my left toes as if they had been punctured by something, maybe a needle. I'm freaking out that maybe an HIV needle infected my toes or feet without me knowing. There are marks on my toes. 1. Can this happen!? 2. What should I do? 3. What is the likelihood of such an event?! Please help me :(

Why is this not an issue!? The spot where I think I may have been struck by a needle hurts. Doesnt this happen sometimes?! Someone steps on a needle!? Ive read about such things and I'm curious about that transmission

No people don't just step on needles. Do needles lay flat or do they stand upwards? They lay flat.

You had no risk.

Could u just help me try to ease my mind here. Lets say I accidently stepped on a needle w/HIV blood in it. Would it have to then be injected somehow or would being pricked by it simply transmit the virus!?

This forum doesn't go into hypothetical situations. You did not bring a risk to this forum and your continued posting shows that you are irrationally obsessed with HIV. Your issues are centered in your head, not in HIV, and they are beyond the scope of help that an HIV forum can provide. Since you did bring a risk to this forum, we cannot advise you further, and your continued posting will be reported to MH.

Ok, thank you. I guess what I truly brought here was a hypothetical then!? Because that was ultimately my question....how would I have known for sure if I need been pricked by a needle!? Can that be answered perhaps?! Because that isn't hypothetical, but an actual concern.......

My last sentence was supposed to read you did NOT bring a risk to this forum.

I just read your posting history. You have over FIFTY posts on MH's HIV forums describing outlandish scenarios for catching HIV. Thinking a homeless person raped you and getting pricked by a weight at the gym are two examples. Enough is enough. You should have learned how HIV is transmitted a long time ago. Seek the professional mental help that you clearly need.

Well I'm just hoping and praying that a prick camt transmit HIV. It would have to go deeper into my skin, correct!? I was pricked by a needle, and I know it wasn't standing up, but likely hit me at an amgel laying flat. I'm wondering if the HIV virus would be dead on such needles, just on the top. Thus making it only possible to transmit if it was injected deeper or intp an area other then my toe!? Please please please, this is my last question and I feel a reasonable one
