weakened immune system?? + HIV Test

Would a Weekened immune system effect seroconversion rate (ie take longer to show positive on a HIV test) ?

My girlfriend said she has a weekened immune system from a sever case of mono when she was younger. And i was wondering if this would prevent her body from producing antibodys in detectable levels at a normal rate. Or would she still probably be reactive at 6 weeks like normal?

rapid saliva tests are 99.8% sensitive (detecting disease) and 99.6% specific (detecting no disease). it doesn't get more accurate than that.

you are lucky in that you can test your partner. not many people have that oppurtunity. you clearly see that she wasn't infected before you.

from my experience, sometimes a 6 mth test is still not enough to calm anxiety.

Thank  you for your input. You and this forum in general, are gradually lestening my anxiety and fear of being infected. I know I am irrational at times, and having an anxiety disorder doesnt help either, but i still am convinced I have some risk as I have had unprotected sex with my partner countless times before getting tested. I just am concerned that since we were both still in the window period technically (6 months) that neither of ours showed up in a test, and that we are both positive.

I am still considering another test at 4 months and one at 6. If not a blood test like the one i did at my hospital, a rapid saliva test if i can find one. Are rapid saliva tests as accurate as blood?

mono would not affect an HIV test. when they refer to immunosuppression regarding HIv testing, they mean cancer patients, chemo patients, and long term illnesses. mono is not one of these!
