just a question. when weight loss is described as a symptom of viral infections like HIV and hep C, is the weight loss usually due to diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc., or does it come about even when someone has a normal intake of food? also, how quickly does it typically come off and how much?
i'm attempting to get over my anxiety from my low risk encounter and have had anxiety for about 3 weeks now. i think my weight loss may be due to that (2-5 pounds in a few days at week 4), but, i've had no vomiting, diarrhea, etc.. i've been eating normal, but feel dehydrated because i'm thirsty a lot and don't have to get up in the night to go tto the bathroom anymore. could stress alone cause weight loss or dehydration (which may be water weight coming off)? if so, does anyone know a website that says this, to put me at ease a bit? all i can find is anxiety causes weight loss due to loss of appetite, vomiting, etc., which i don't have.
I too am curious as to when weightloss begins with an Hiv+ person. Is it during ARS, shortly thereafter, or in the Advanced Stages.
Not that I have lost any weight, actually to the contrary, I have gained. But, the girl I was with is very skinny and pale looking.
