window period

by ISIR, Jun 25, 2007 12:09AM
I have taken a big risk some weeks ago.

I have made a test in Asia where I live.
The test is the test of Bayer ( Advia Centaur HIV1/O/2)

I do not knowm anything about this test ( in Europe, we use only Elisa)

WHAT IS THE WINDOW PERIOD FOR THIS TEST?

Thank you

Assay for the Detection of Antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency VirusType 1, Including Group O (HIV-1 + “O”) and/or Type 2 (HIV-2)

It's not and FDA approved test in the US.

Hi Teak, I had my test done through tstd.org, and on Labcorp's result sheet, it says they used HIV 1/o/2 test as well. This is not FDA approved? Should I not rely on my 7 and 13 week negative test?

Actually the Advia Centaur HIV 1/o/2 test is approved by the FDA.
