worried sick
Im a 40 year old married man and 5 days ago was very drunk and my bi curious side came out and met up witha man and had insertive protected anal sex with him..i was the top. I think the condom stayed on the whole time. I briefly gave him unprotected oral. I checked the condom the very next day and it seemed to not have any holes. Very next day had hiv test run which was negative which i knew it was too soon. My doctor said i would need to come back in the 3 to 4 months to get retested for this particular exposure. Im so worried sick that i may have ruined my life and i.cant tell my wife but she can tell im acting differently. The guy told me he was clean and has been tested within the last month. What are the odds i contracted HIV? I just recently had unprotected sex with my wife and feel terrible about it!! Somebody please help!

Seek a therapist, again we can't help with anxiety and guilt here. That is why there is a profession that helps people with those issues.
buddy , trust me, I have been going through this fear of hiv for 10 years, if you had protected sex , then you are safe and so is your wife. I was the same way, going to my DR for answers and believe me , they can tell when you have high anxiety, thats why he told you to get tested , to relieve your anxiety and stress so you will stop seeing him for no reason. Listen to Vance as well as Teak, Lizzie Lou or NurseGirl, they are experts and know what they are talking about, and listen to me when I tell you this, if you dont combat the anxiety, it will ruin your life.
I just cant shake the fear....it was drunken spur of the moment thing...he seemed sober....i asked when the last time he was tested and he said a month a ago and he said he had nothing but i didnt specifically ask him about hiv cause i thought he knew what i was talking about...found the condom laying outside where we had sex the next day and it seemed to be ok with no holes...it was dark outside....im just freaking out. Can anyone put this into more perspective please???
Well why am i so anxious about it then...i was drunk i remember the condom he put on but i dont know if it stayed on the whole time....i.seem to remember him pulling it off when we were done but im just scared ashell

In your opinion would this warrant testing? Doctor says that he doubts i have it but said to test anyway...dont know if this is to relieve my anxiety or what
But why is my doctor telling me to get retested for this particular event in 3-4 months? I was pretty drunk and i do remember him putting a condom on me and remember seeing that condom the next day and it was in tact. I cant understand why my doctor would want me to get tested for this if its safe sex?
