If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
Your rapid HIV test 10 weeks after the last exposure is almost conclusive. However, strictly speaking, HIV antibodies test should be done at least after 12 weeks post last exposure.
I would recommend repeating it once more (post 12 weeks after THE LAST EXPOSURE). It can be any recognised HIV test e.g. FDA approved if you live in the USA or a one carrying CE mark if you live within European Union and it can be either laborator based or a rapid test.
I am very confident that a repeat test will be negative and it will provide you the comfort.
i know ur gona have go at me, but please may you answer me this, im gona get tested for hepatitis c and for autoimmune diseases and if they come back positive, when shall i test for hiv again?
how do you know i havent, all im asking is what the window period is if youve a autoimmune disease?
Is it the autoimmune disease itself or the is it the Antiretroviral drugs that delays seroconversion for hiv?
3 months will be conclusive for you. The ONLY (rare) circumstances where people are advised to test out to 6 months is when their immune sys is SERIOUSLY compromised....example, an organ transplant patient taking anti-rejection meds, a cancer pt on aggressive chemo, etc.
An "autoimmune" disorder, like rheumatoid arthritis, etc does NOT change the guidelines...3 months is sufficient.
If i get diagnosed with a autoimmune disease, shall i avoid the medication prescribed, a doctor on f r e e d o m h e a l t h said its the Immunosuppressant drugs/medication that causes Immunosuppression/immunodeficiencies, is that true?
I wanna get tested at 6months which is in april? Is 6months conclusive for auto immune disease?
You have a posting warning on AidsMeds and you keep it up you'll get one on MedHelp. You already have a conclusive test result and you are not immuno suppressed. MOVE ON.
