Diane 35

am a 28 year old female I have been suffering a serious hair loss since 5 years ago , I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism 5 years ago and started treating it with levothyroxine, doctors said that hair loss will stop once my levels will be balanced, which they were balanced and tho I still I lost my hair.Another doctor prescribed me Diane 35 I have been taking it for the last 3 years and it didn't help only got worse, a year and a half ago I changed my thyroid medication to Armour and my blood tests came out perfect, my hair is still falling out and It makes me sooo sad because no one knows what causes the hair loss and I don't know what to do?????I also know that getting off the pill will cause more hair loss and then I will be left with no hair at all! is it possible that using diane 35 causing this hair loss?

justread ur guery and come to kno that u regularly used diane-35...its shoked me
bcoz a year before my doctor adviced me to take this tratment only once then discontinue for better result,it is very high doses
i think that continuity mismanage your hormones  thats why u r balding very quickly.becoz diane directly effects on female hormines and menstrual cycles.

Thank you for your response I have decided to stop taking diane 35 and have my body clean from all of this, I really hope that someday my hair will grow back ,it's my only hope

Hi, thyroid medications can cause hair loss, so can being at a suboptimal TSH.  You should get your Ferritin (not iron) tested, as low Ferritin can cause hair loss.   Most  hair loss doctors say for hair loss ferritin should be above 40.

I don't know specifically about Diane 35, but I have heard that Amour is better than other thyroid replacement and is your best bet for regrowing your hair.  I'd definitely check on your iron levels since somebody who probably knows thyroid problems mentioned it.  And a good multivitamin/multimineral is probably in order, but I am no expert on the thyroid.
