Do I have female pattern baldness?

I have been through a huge amount of stress in the last 6 months.  I also have been on various hormone/fertility drugs while trying to conceive.  I have been losing my hair for about the last 4-6 months.  I am being told that it could be Telogen effluvium or female pattern baldness (men in my family are bald, women are not).  I am taking biotin, hair, skin and nail vitamins and numerous other vitamin.  It is still falling out but I have a lot of new growth (around my hairline especially).  Could this be female pattern baldness if have some much new growth?
