Tretinoin for hair loss

I use tretinoin gel with minoxidil for my HAIRLOSS. However, I have come across accounts on the net claiming they suffered from hair loss due to tretinoin. Please guide me to the truth, usage and side effects of tretinoin for hair loss treatment.

I had a few small hairs growing on my hairline. They disappeared about 2 weeks into usage of Tretinoin with Minoxidil. So I guess it did not .. I have stopped using the cream now and wait and watch if the vellus hairs come back.
