bald spot on my scalp and beard

i am 22 years old, recently( perhaps 2months back) i noticed a bald spot on my head.i searched google and found the disease as alopecia areata. i waited for some time(1 month) for hair to regrow. As regrowth was no where in sighting so i consulted a dermatologist and she prescribed me biotin tablet (1 tablet for 1 month) and a hair regrowth solution " TRIGAINE"( 3 drops- 2 times a day).i have been ensuing the medication for 10 days now,but to no effect.just 2 days back i noticed 2-3 bald spots on my beard. please suggest something.

Get tested for Celiac disease.  There are blood tests for it now.  Even if you test negative, you might try the diet (though it is tricky to avoid wheat gluten).  But they have found a connection between alopecia and Celiac disease.  It's actually quite healthy.  You can go on a "caveman" diet and achieve the same thing since it keeps you completely away from grains.  Unfortunately, you can only have gluten-free beer on this diet, but many wines are okay and many liquors.  Some wines and liquors are aged in barrels though, and some barrels get sealed with wheat paste, so that can cause problems.  So it takes a lot of care, but staying completely away from gluten may solve this problem and protect you from autoimmune diseases.
