chemo and permanent hair loss

I started Chemo 5 months before my 50th birthday. I did 8 rounds followed by surgery and radiation. Six years later, I'm very happy to  be alive but still look like I'm in treatment. My hair loss which included all parts of my body is permanent. I don't have an attractive "bald" head - I look 15 to 20 years older than my age. People often think my father is my husband and I tend to scare my young students. I've worn a hat for 6 years but I'm getting tired of the "patient" look. Where can I turn for help. The oncologist just kept saying my hair would come back. After 6 years, I don't think so.

I wonder if some chemo treatments can trigger alopecia, a type of hair loss that can be spotty like my son had or more permanent.

For some reason your question was posted on the "birds" forum. I'll send a note and most likely the moderator will send your question over to the chemo forum. In case you want to ask again, try this link:

If you are interested in a non-surgically applied hair system, do let me know. After a very long time searching I found the perfect place for me.
